This geometric drawing toy combines art and math to allow users to create intricate spiral patterns, mathematically known as hypotrochoids and epitrochoids.
How to Use the Kit
Secure the Ring: Place a large gear ring onto a sheet of paper. Secure it firmly in place by applying pieces of the included reusable Spiro-Putty to the underside of the ring. This stops the base from sliding around.

Insert a Wheel: Place one of the smaller, distinctively shaped precision wheels inside the fixed gear ring so that their teeth interlock perfectly.
Insert the Pen: Place the tip of one of the included fine-line design pens vertically into any of the numbered holes on the moving wheel.

Trace the Design: Keep the pen completely upright and slowly glide the wheel along the inside edge of the ring. Continue the circular motion until the pattern links back up with your starting point. You can swap pen colors or use different holes to layer complex designs.
